I’m Kara, owner and designer at EHD.

When my daughter, Ever Gene, was born in 2025, I was home on maternity leave from my corporate job and with all the noise set aside, I had a moment of clarity. It was finally time to do what I always wanted to do. It was time to follow my passion.

The Ever House was born.

From binging Trading Spaces during summer breaks in 2001, to painting and rearranging my bedroom every year in high school, to furnishing my first 100 year-old bungalow in college, and eventually gutting and renovating my Austin home in 2021, design has always been a part of me. While my style has evolved since those early days (adios, dual toned sponge-painted walls!), one thing has remained the same. I believe great design should feel good and tell your story, all without breaking the bank.

My goal is to help you create a home that feels like you — a space that reflects your energy, your soul, and your story. A sanctuary you’ll love walking into every single day.
